Vanishing On 7th Street
what do I think about this movie?
I feel so empty watching this movie, as empty as the street in the movie. The story was very simple, too simple I just ended up shaking my head for the simpleness that probably put me in a dilemma and a question mark "so what?"
It went something like this, one night the electricity suddenly went out and tadaaa..people went missing leaving only their clothes behind. The only people left were people who used flashlights or used other methods (aka solar, battery, generator) to keep the lights on. Then, there were these 4 or 5 people only who tried anything to stay alive until the next sunrise. But sadly only two of them who survived. The miracle was the girl who had a solar flashlight, who did not want to get close to anybody (very selfish indeed) was the one who might saved them all because she knew how to keep the lights on. What I did not understand was why the little girl was wiser than the rest of the crew and why the character was written in such a way that she just let everyone else vanish???.
I felt wronged watching something where the people were clueless of what they were fighting against and only to be told "once upon a time, an entire village vanished leaving its home and livestock and a mysterious "CROATOAN" word painted on the gate at the village". In other words, the history just repeated itself in 7th street and nothing should happen to stop it.People just vanished and that was it.
*sigh...
Not liking it.
