Are you okay?

Posted by Nikita at 7:00 PM 0 comments
I was asked a few times this past few days if I was okay? If I was alright? It was a question that always caught me off guard. It sounded so thoughtful, it numbed me. Of course I answered "yes, I am alright, I am okay".

But, why did they ask me that? My superior said, "Don't let your problems be written all over your face. It makes you unapproachable. You look so "DOWN", no one dares to disturb you. That's my honest assessment of you"

Her remarks left me feeling "troubled". In fact it felt so wrong, I could not stop thinking about it.

Have you ever heard the terms "not in the right place" and "not sharing the same values". I am about to make few excuses here.

I have been struggling alot fitting in. I still feel out of place. There are people I could not mix with no matter how much I tried. But then, probably I am just too self-centered.

Yes, I am so lacking in "leading department". Exerting authority is like pulling my hair out. It feels so DEMANDING and so out of my territory. I don't know how to describe it. I just could not pull it off. Managing people is my worst skill.

I am trying to change with much effort but on the other hand, I am thinking, is there something a SELF-CENTERED person who could not lead like me, could actually do without having to manage so many people like "THAT".

Maybe not. She is right, I am so good in individual work but my weakness in one particular area, which is the most important part overshadowed my strength. They could as well throw me to the crocodile and be done with it. Because, it is simply like throwing a meat. A commodity so irreplaceable.

She said, She has been there. One day maybe it would be my turn to say so.

Now, i just could not like the things as there are.

But let me not just flop and die. I know I am better than that.

The terrible blessed me. God,..I am looking at you.

My Wife is a Superwoman

Posted by Nikita at 8:00 PM 0 comments

This drama starred Kim Nam Joo (Ji Ae), Oh Ji Ho, Lee Hye Young, Sun Woo Sun, Choi Chui Ho and Yoon Sang Hyun was basically a story about the rivalry between Ji Ae and Yang Boon soo who were once BF in school turned enemy because of a man.

They met inevitably when Ji Ae's husband Dahl Soo was interviewing for a position in a company where Bong Soo's husband Joon Hyuk (Ji Ae's ex-bf) was the vice president. In an attempt to make a better prospect for the hubby to get the position, Ji Ae made the first move to establish friendships with all the bosses's wives including Bong soo. However Bong Soo although married to Joon Hyuk hide a secret that soon tore them apart. The secret made her insecure and scared that Joon Hyuk might left her for Ji Ae. Furthermore, while in school, Ji Ae was once a popular girl who loved bullying her. Hence, she did everything she could to ruin Ji Ae life.

Dahl Soo, was a very smart but too honest to live in a society where he found himself unable to fit in in a workplace. However, after seven years of in and out of job, he decided to give all he got and tried to make it work for the last time. Trouble came when he met the wife of the president of the company where he wanted to work at.She was his former junior in university who had a crush on him. She was lonely and out looking for an affair after challenged by his husband to prove she could cheat on him like he did to her. She was more than please to meet Dahl Soo. She soon looked for him to console her aching soul and to confide about her suffering. She even contemplated running away with him. Dahl Soo heart's wavered although not to a point where he left his wife but still it was enough to cause a fight between Ji Ae and Dahl soo. This was all further fueled by Boon Soo who poisoned Ji Ae's mind. Boon soo who accidently witnessed Dahl soo hugging the president't wife, took the CCTV recordings and showed it to Ji Ae.

Ji Ae met the President accidentally when he crashed on her car. Although there was no injury she planned an insurance fraud against him but soon withdrawed the claim after being found out by him. After that, they keep bumping on each other and soon the president fell for her that he moved to her housing area. All the while hiding his identity. It was soon found out by Dahl Soo and later by Director Kim's wife who paid the president secretary to leak on important information about the president. This secret was soon used against the president and Dahl Soo for the benefit of Director Kim who wanted to replace the president.

The company in particular Director Kim was spearheading a riot to overturn the president. Thus, he plotted a plan after plan to make sure the project headed by the president became unprofitable. In the process of doing so he hired the new employee and the weaklings in the company to involve in the project. Dahl Soo was picked among them. However, Director Kim plan back stabbed him when the team came up with a good project. His weapon which was Dahl Soo whom they know hated the president for coming on to his wife, got back to his sense and revealed Director Kim's dirty plan.

That was a little about the story. There were plenty other ingredients but I just mentioned a little bit here and there that connected it until the drama ended.

The story centered on the life of the housewives who were all trying to be the perfect/superwoman mate for their beloved husbands. The only time, their heart was not totally into the marriage was when another person came into the picture.

What I like about this drama was how it actually portrayed the real lives of some women who were living to please their husbands and somehow found themselves disillusioned once their reason to live for which was the husband was no longer faithful to them even though the affair might only lasted a second. A wavering heart itself broke the heart to the point of no return.

From episode 17th onwards I was cursing nonstop, because I found the script very much annoying. I myself might not be able to forgive Ji Ae of what she said to her husband. It was too much.

Anyway, this drama would allow you to learn about the other side of marriage. It was so true about the argument, the expectation and the temptation but through it all, if both did not stop to patch up for good, life would still be lovely. There would be a good and a bad day but life is only bearable if you have that special someone by your side inspite of all the flaws. That was what you might get after watching this.

I am gonna give it emm..3 1/2 star ^_^.. I could not like Kim Nam Joo.

Hot blood

This drama played by Park Hae Jin as Ha Ryu,Chae Jeong-an as Kim Jaehee and Choi Cheol-ho as Gang Seungju was a drama about the competition in the automobile industries.

Ha Ryu was an ambitious salesman who wished to gain financial success by selling cars. His motivation then were to be able to pay off his father's debt and to finance his girlfriend's education. However the girlfriend left him for a rich man and he was tricked into believing his boss to sell defective cars which tragically ended the lives of two persons including his most beloved father. He tried to expose the primary reason of the fatal accident which was due to the defective car itself but was plotted to go against it by his then boss. Disappointed with his action, he ended his career for a while because of regret in what happened to his father.

He got back on his feet upon meeting one of the four kings in car sales, Mr. Choe Godong who was once very close to his father. He helped him to regain his confidence and to renew his spirit. Through competition in the business it was inevitable for him to meet again with his former boss who had became much more powerful and still as evil as ever. However together with Kim Jaehee and Song Mandeuk they plotted a plan that eventually exposed Gang seungjue criminal records.

There were some memorable lines I picked up from this series which I found very inspiring such as;

1. If you couldn't get back where you fall, you would never get back ever or at all

2. Start with a small goal. It's a tiny seed that eventually becomes a flower,

3. What does it mean to be the best? If you can let go the goal to be the best and humble yourself again and again and again, soon you will realize big isn't always the best,

4. The more you get to know a person the greater the disappointment, expectations build up and you continued to be let down and expectations build up again and it continues on.

In this drama, Ha Ryu character was relate-able but it did not really come off naturally, he looked like he was acting. I hated Kim Jaeheen in the first few episodes because she was dressed differently than how her attitude came off. I was not really sure about her character. The same goes to Mr.Gang, I could not understand his feeling towards Kim Jaehee.

I was really having a hard time understanding the character in this drama regrettably. The worst part was the last three episodes since I think everyone would have agree it should have ended rightfully at 18th episode and continuing it did not make much sense to me.

There were many flaws but I still enjoy watching it though. ^_^

If your only wish is to look at the handsome Park Hae Jin running, sweating and making his appearance everywhere then you should go on watching this. Its a sales world that you might like to take a peek for a pure entertainment reason.

Okay, I am done with this. I will give it a three star rating. ^_^

The Man of The Vineyard

Posted by Nikita at 5:47 PM 0 comments

I have enjoyed watching this drama. The only down time for me was the last three episodes. This drama starred by Yoon Eun-Hye, Oh Man Seok,Chung So Young and Kim Ji seok was something you should watch for a light entertainment.

This was a story about Lee Jiheyon (Yoon Eun-Hye), an aspiring fashion designer who suddenly went from being a plain Jane who had nothing to a millionaire to be when her distant uncle decided to give her his 2 millions worth Vineyard if she was willing to work in the vineyard for a year. For the possibility of becoming a millionaire she went down to the Vineyard having in mind that she would not have to work hard anyway. But, to the contrary of her fantasy, her world turned 360 and she had to work tirelessly day and night along with Jang Taekgi who became her mentor to "learn the ropes". She tried to run away once but decided to put up to the end when she ran into her "crush" when she was about to board the train to Seol. There, began her flirt with her dream man and the man she would soon fall in love with.

On the bright side I like this drama for a few reasons; It taught you to understand a little bit about grapes, It taught you that true love not necessarily involve expensive vacation with fine wine and dine, it taught you that beneath every person without looking at the exterior is someone you could love for the real thing inside, it taught you good words doesn't necessarily mean good to hear, it taught you to listen to your heart, it taught you although you can choose someone based on their background and their profession but it still always comes down to how true your feelings are to the person you wish to live forever with.

Since I like this drama, I could not say much about what I don't like about it. Maybe just a little on how it re-used some scene like "fireflies" to make it more appealing and dramatic but I still recommend it for viewing.

Who could hate Yoon Eun-hye anyway?..although I can't really differentiate her character in here and in Goong (Princess hours), I still love her. I just thought the main actor Jang Taekgi was wayyyy to rough!!...^_^

Okay, time for a new drama. I wonder how many drama can I stand to watch this year. Counting!!!!

Sucker Punch

This was another story that I found quite interesting. It was something different. It was played by Emily Browing as Babydoll, Abbie Cornish as Sweat Pea, Vanessa Hudgens as Blondie, Jena Malone as Rocket and Jamie Chung as Amber.

I checked this out after knowing that it was directed by Zack Synder who also directed "300". I watched 300 and found it impressive so I was hoping for another good movie from him. He did not disappoint me.

It was a story about the struggle of a few girls in a mental institution. Some were locked wrongly. Babydoll story was one that has been properly introduced. She was sent to the instution by her step father accusing her of being mentally unstable after the death of the mother. The step-father paid a worker in the institution to forge a document that will allow a brain damaging procedure.

However before the procedure was carried out, Babydoll managed to persuade her friends to gang up in her escape plan. The plan cost Blondie, Rocket and Amber lives. Sweat Pea was the only one managed to escape after Babydoll willingly sacrifice herself to be taken in again and continued on the brain damaging procedure.

The most interesting thing about this movie was about the way the struggle was being captured and told. It was creatively showed by different imaginary battles to get all the things they needed to escape which were; map, fire, knife, key and..finally "babydoll".

Another thing that I liked about the story was the creative ways it portrayed the strength of the women. The women were femininely dressed but were also carrying guns and using machines to fight in each of the battles. The cinematography was great and the girls were kicking and punching for reals. They were not weaklings at all.

I believe the lesson the movie was trying to tell the audience was,; We have all the necessary weapons to fight and so it is up to us how to use it to free ourselves and to win our own battles.

I will give this movie a four star for simply being creative.
